Training News: Training is back in full swing after being suspended for a few weeks because of an outbreak of Canine Influenza in the Chicago area.
Windy City Working Dog Club was proud to host the 2008 Midwest Decoy Certification for PSA K9. The training and certification weekend was held on April 19th and 20th at Mike Pulford's K-9 Country in Hinckley, IL. Darryl Richey, PSA's Midwest Director, conducted the training and judged the certification, and Matt Faccinto, Midwest Assistant Director, was also on hand to help with the event. It turned out to be a great weekend thanks to lots of team work and and a bunch of VERY hard working decoys! Check out Kevin Walsh's wonderful photos of the event.
Training at Windy City Working Dog Club takes place on Wednesdays and Saturdays in Chicago and on some Sundays in Hinckley, IL. We've got a number of new club members and a nice variety of handler/dog teams working toward both sport and personal protection goals. Be sure to take a look at the photos page for some pictures from training, and check out the "Club News" section for information on working dog events in the Midwest.
Our goal at Windy City Working Dog Club is to provide a friendly environment for consistent, high quality training for working dogs and handlers and, more specifically, to train for PSA K9 competition. We welcome members with a background or interest in all dog sports as well as those who may not wish to compete but would like to be part of an active training community.
PSA will endeavor to set a new standard for training excellence in the protection sports, and PSA shall encourage cross-over from other protection sports, to provide a competitive venue that will test the best against the best, encouraging excellence, sportsmanship, and integrity throughout the dog training community.from PSA K9 2006-2007 Official Rule Book

We try to keep the content current with information about Windy City Working Dog Club activities as well as news about other PSA clubs, trials, training and equipment tips, and any other interesting working dog information that comes our way. We plan to add pictures and bios of club members soon, and we also hope to post some training video.
